Video of Mosconi shooting some Straight Pool in 1980

Hey Dennis, how are ya buddy? :)

If you could do that to upload the video somehow, that would be brilliant since it would also be a little look back a part of billiards history and to get a little more insight on Willie Mosconi as a player and a person :)

Willie: I have the vhs converted to dvd. Today I will make an avi file out of it. Now the only concern I have is where can I upload it. Any ideas?

Cool :)

How about Dailymotion?... It's possible to upload clips on there that are just under 20 mins long and 2GB in size and so, I would imagine that it could be uploaded in 2,3,4 parts, depending on how long the entire video footage is :)

I saw Mosconi in an exhibition in the early 70's twice, and to this day I've never seen anyone who could run balls as effortlessly as him.

off hand i'd say that schmidt and butera make the game look easy. there are others too.

Picks out his patterns immediately, and has what looks like a FAT shaft.

No gimmicks.
Just a hunk of wood and some skill.
Gotta love it.

Yes, I do remember that he never hit a ball hard at all. He ran 125 in one of the exhibitions and if my memory isn't faulty I could swear he never once pocketed a ball up table, just the front four pockets. It's like he owned the table completely, he was in total control....I don't sense that with todays top 14.1 players.

I think Jonathan Schmidt and Danny Barouty are almost at the level of the old master. I've seen each run many 100's without any hint of effort.

Some folks have a natural ability to see easy patterns and execute effortlessly. Mere mortals can only dream of playing as good as Willie Mosconi.

I am content to try, but with realistic expectation. :)
