Funny...
But I want to more about that acustic version of Hey Ya.............that was pretty sweet

He's got it wrong. Ralf looks at the cue ball when he strokes through it, not the object ball like most players.

Ralf's eyeballs seem to jitterbug 1294139123 times between both. I wonder if that's what my own eyes do or if ralf's a bit odd. I feel like I don't move them so much but I bet I'd be surprised.

Don't be fooled into thinking that looking at CB last is how ralf plays just because he handled the break that way. That's a trick for making a nicer hit on your breaks, I use the same thing. But I'm sure ralf looks at OB last on normal shots.

I agree, I do the same when I'm not in full confidence. But my better break is when I'm fixing the OB while shooting. For other shots I think it's a mistake to fix the CB last before shooting. You loose in precision for the pot and for the positionning. JMO

Yeah, I'm not sure if Ralf's eye pattern is the best one to emulate, that's kind of crazy. Not that he should change what he's doing, it works for him.

aiming at the cue ball last isn't illogical though. once you are lined up and are stroking straight, you should be able to close your eyes and the ball will go the same place. therefore you look at the object ball last in order to get a VERY exact tip placement on the cue ball wherever you want it.

the eyes have it

this is a great clip and thread even though I'm not sure the use of
OB vs. CB was proper at all times.

CB last is appropriate for the break, jump shots, masse, etc.

IMO Ralf's eye movement is excessive, even for a break.

beef, you're at least half right, I can shoot pretty well with my eyes closed once I'm set, I ran to the eight and dogged it that way before. I think that OB last just allows for a little extra precision like bill suggested. You can probably make the ball either way, but you can really control the thickness of hit if you're looking at the OB last. It's kinda subsconscious but if hitting thicker will help, your brain steers the arm a bit if you're looking at the thick part you want to hit, and if you need to hit thinner it does the same thing if you're focusing on the thin part of the OB.
