Tighten them pockets up ...your getting away with murder.:p
Nice shooting though.

Doesn't matter

Although that table looks like it has buckets... It wouldn't matter if he was playing on a double shim bc you can hear and see that he's pocketing center pocket. That's when you know your really pro one 'ing, it's a super solid feeling and the sound will have everyone locking your way in the pool hall.

Sometimes I become a real d!ck when I hear the 1pkt players teaching a new player that a quad shim table must be shot soft or the pocket won't accept the shot. I get on the other quad shim and just start firing them in. I don't say anything I just let that sound resonate over the jukebox.

Thanks for posting these Gerry. I re-watched the DVD again, and some other support videos, and I finally figured out what I believe is the last thing I was doing wrong.

When I would do the sweep, I was sweeping with my cue instead of my body. Hard to explain, but what I mean is that I would bend down or rotate, and then turn my back hand as I was getting down on the shot. I realize now that you have to keep the cue in a straight line, and let your body take you to the correct position.

This is very evident in this video when Gerry is exaggerating the left sweep (at around 1:40).

Gerry,
How many hours have you been putting in the last few months?

You're shooting great btw. The way you're running racks and rarely missing, you'd be a chance against anyone race to 9. Pros might get you on the safety aspect and experience in tourney conditions and such.

Did I pick up some Back Hand English? Looks like you pivot sometimes, especially with a bit of outside english on rail shots. Helps to cancel out the throw on those softer stun shots.

Thanks Colin.

I play a fair bit as I have the table at home. I play with a buddy every Thursday and in an Elite Singles League on Mondays.

I switched to Pro One about a year ago and it was a huge struggle at first because it was different and I had been playing since I was 15. I also spent a day with Stan Shuffett - talk about money well spent!

I sometimes use BHE and yes it does help offset some of the CIT effects.

I would guess I practice 15-20hrs per week and compete for 5. CTE Pro One has made it a lot of fun though.

The videos also help raise my awareness of where I need to improve and safety play is definitely one. As for tournament pressure - I have been there several times but agree against really tough competition it is sometimes tough to stay in the moment and stick to your routine.

Just added a short video with the visuals and sweeps called out - hopefully helps other Pro One students.

BTW - I have used your potting workout on several occasions too :)

Cheers,
Gerry

Thanks for your reply Gerry,

Your endorsement of Pro1, as someone who can seriously pot and position at the top level is a big feather in its cap... and why the system deserves attention.

I'll watch your new vid and keenly anticipate more in the future.

Your recent video demonstrating the effect of throw is a very important contribution. I did a crappy vid years ago, using a mobile phone demonstrating how throw can change the direction by over a foot over 8 feet of travel. It is a crucial aspect of any aiming system. Video is here if you haven't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-xtzn4vbiQ

I have made charts that predict the various amounts of throw, relative to the line through centers, and relative to a medium speed naturally rolling pot (which thickens slightly), for slow to hard and various thicknesses of hit. Would be happy to send them if you're interested.... well, I should get off my a$$ and put them online. I need to spend hours editing out the stamp placed on them by the trial software I used to create the plots.
