Thanks for the videos! Too bad Stevie had to lose his head in those matches there. He has a hell of a game, and he looked like he could have ran Dennis through if he had stayed focused.

Great coverage. I was wondering when someone else other than accu stats would do some taping. The spirits tour pics are great too. Hey if you ever need a camera man let me know. I am in N.C. and got a good knowledge of the game. Thanks again:D

I like the vids! The up close and personal camera work is much more interesting to watch(like a spectator hanging out in the room) vs. the dry sterile stuff I am used to that is shown on ESPN.

I was watching Steve play Bilbrey with a case of the shakes just now. Does he have Parkinson's or something? Or is it just nerves?

No offense, but the Stevie I saw in those matches looked like he was no match for a player of Dennis Hatch's caliber. He made some nice runouts, but he got slightly out of position a LOT more than Dennis. Watching Dennis made me sick. He makes a tough shot to start, gets perfect shape, and runs out like a machine.

Stevie never looked like a machine on any of his runouts. Maybe he was just dogging it a little. Maybe you could give a little background on Stevie's real game. I know he's won some regional tourneys.

Now Will Bibrey, (I think that was his name) THAT dude is a MONSTER. I remember watching his matches and thinking, "Who the heck is THIS guy?". He's got that machine like consistency you see mostly from top pros. And I had never heard of him before he showed up on AZBilliard's radar.

Go figure! :D

Erm. The only time I've seen him play are these matches on-line. I was just commenting on his play in the finals. I thought it was real obvious when he got distracted, and it definitely cost him.

Stevie didn't bring his best game to the Viking Tour finals, that's for sure.

If you want see Stevie in better form watch his Victory Billiards come-from-behind win over Will Bilbrey: http://propoolvideo.com/victory.html

And what can you say about Dennis...truly a world-class player. Stevie obviously had the hometown crowd behind him. At one point Dennis even says "I have one fan" after there was a smattering of applause for one of his masterful runouts. But by the end of the match and many other runouts, Dennis had won the crowd over, getting about the same applause as Stevie.

Will has been playing strong for quite a while. I have taped matches of him winning Florida Tour events from 2001. What a great stroke he has! And a really nice guy too.

Thanks for the videos Jorge. They are really fun to watch. Will you be in Athens, GA. on Dec 16-17 to do any taping of that Viking Tour event?

I have been watching the videos too, and I must say that I enjoy them too.

So between Steve and Dennis, are they pretty much even or can one play significantly better than the other if they both play their best?

I disagree that Steve is the weaker player run-out wise...he might not run them in a machine fashion, but I think he is more methodical and in the long run could yield more dividends than if he were to move too quickly. I however do not like his safety play or his kicking....seems like he is unsure of himself sometimes and he makes some weird choices IMO. I was quite disgusted when I saw him fling the balls...that really takes some temper. I've been really mad before but I've yet to fling the balls!

Dennis on the other hand is a well-oiled machine, although there was many a time where I saw him make mistakes like not getting optimal position because he shot too quickly. Between the both of them, for the first shot after the break, I think Steve is the more focused one and he seems to always make a good first shot. Run-out, kicking and safety wise, I really like Dennis's game.

If Steve didn't miss the last 8 ball, which seemed like a pretty easy shot, we might have had more of a thriller.

Thanks Southpaw. I will be back at Capone's in Spring Hill that weekend for the first annual Steve Mizerak Florida State Championship.
