The pin is vikings quick attach. Basically a proprietary pin. I thin the thread I'd 5/16×18 but I believe it has a different major diameter? Than a standard 5/16×18

Yes, that's a Viking QR. 5/16 x 18 but the pilot is slightly larger than the minor diameter of a standard 5/16 x 18 screw. I suppose, if you couldn't find a shaft with the appropriate bushing, you could drill out a regular 5/16 x 18 bushing to fit the pilot. There's not a lot of room for error, though. As far as proprietary joints go, I'm a big fan of the Viking QR.

I think it's a giveaway butt. Vikings are not collectable. And with that pin, there are no/few aftermarket shafts that will fit.
Although the selection is limited, aftermarket shafts are available. I had a predator 314 for mine that would also fit a 3/16 x 18 pin. I like my Viking Siege and for a little over $200, the Vikore. There are definitely many shafts that are unavailable with the Viking joint, though.

Whyte Carbon and Bull carbon make adaptors for their shafts to fit the Viking. I have a Whyte Carbon on mine.

why bother it has little value.

if for some reason i dont know, you want it to be your cue then send it to a cuemaker to make a shaft and a new joint pin or better yet a whole new joint that accommodates shafts..
and pay the price.
