Vintage Butterfly Cue Case?

Anyone know when Butterfly cases started being made? I have a old 2x4 Swift tube case I love, but I find myself using my generic 4*8 butterfly case. Just wondering if I might be able to find a vintage tooled butterfly case. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. THx

At least as far back as the 40s I think. But modern ones started with AVP in the 80s possibly.

I have not seen any vintage tooled butterfly cases, pre 80s that I recall.

I can make you one that would look like it was done 50 years ago if you like.
