Balabushka is worth somewhere around $60 a box I think. My buddy has boat loads of it.
 
Ah well, he said he has someone that's offered him up to 70$ a box (because he's a bushka lover). That stuff is some *super* messy chalk though.
 
I had a huge Chalk collection back in the 70's. I had Willie Mosconi chalk, and a ton of other brands. Somehow it got tossed in one the 8 million times I moved. The only part of my old Chalk collection that I still have is a small box of 12 National Tournament Chalks in different colors, Blue, Green, Red and Tan I think.
It was allot of fun when I was a Kid collecting them, I had them lined up all over my room.:)

The reason I ask is because of this auction on ebay. I just can not believe the current bid for this box.

I have a few 12-cube boxes of old chalk. If you are interested in pool collectibles, you should get the book by Mark and Connie Stellinga. It is nearly always on eBay. I think they have about five pages of pictures and prices of chalk. The prices they list are sort of "high blue book."

A box in good condition of 12 unused chalks from 1900 might get as much as $500 on eBay. A single "Manhattan Club" chalk sold for $300, but it was round and in its individual round tin. Hexagonal chalk also exists.

The referenced auction is for Czech chalk (say three times quickly) with an Alabama label on it. I haven't seen that before. It's at $550 now for a good box with 12 unused chalks.

I have a couple old Camel PBT cubes. :rolleyes: Not worth much, I'm sure, but they are a nice momento.
