Virtual Pool 4 Is Now Released

I spent some time with Steve Chaplin and he gave me the tour. I was super impressed. Especially since there was a one pocket tournament about to start online......that's pretty real.

glad you like it John. We usually play in on the 10ft with very tight pockets.......Its a blast . You should join us one day

Very fun game with a very steep learning curve at first. I LOVE the realism, the physics, and the variety of games.

However, it seems that there are some guys that seem WAY too good - they can pocket balls so easily, but lack heavily in position play. This tells me that they either:

A) have developed a great way of aiming (I sometimes think that super-close up camera view sighting down the cue is best, and other times it seems a far out view is better).

or B) are using some kind of 3rd party aiming system.

Do you know what's the best aiming system for this game, and whether or not there ARE aimers out there?

Thanks

Drm

Word of warning:
I bought the $30 offline version and installed it at home.
Then I went to put it on my laptop so I could play while away, and I found out that it's locked to a single computer.
Okay, that's frustrating. It's like going back 10 years...or circa VP3. ;)

It's on me that I didn't look to make sure this wouldn't happen, but I think that this is the only software that I use anymore that has this outdated style of DRM.

A bit of googling leads me to believe that this won't be changing any time soon, which is a pity.

So, fair warning to anyone else who may run afoul of this...feature.

There isnt any 3rd party aiming system.....Its called practice

I get that. But some of the guys who are great at pocketing balls are horrible at position play, which tells me that they aren't very good, they just have an aimer. How do you know there isn't one? There seems to be aimers for all other online pool games.

Except VP4.......There isnt aimers for this simulator.........If you had a god like stroke in real life you wouldnt miss a shot either, yet youd still have to learn how to play positon

Hi guys its been a long while since i posted on here. First of all RIP to John "Slingblade" Novak who started this post. He passed away a few years back and thanks to him he introduced me to AZ Billiards and to the Pool live stream links on here.
As you may or may not know Ive been taking to live stream the bigger tourneys that we have in Virtual Pool 4 Online, namely the big championships that we do.
In recent times Ive been providing commentary and chat whilst streaming and on a number of occasions been joined in the commentary by Steve Chaplin who is the developer and CEO of Celeris and the main man behind all the Virtual Pool series.
Right now we have the first ever Virtual Cribbage World Championships up and running and already have had some close matches.
So if you got nothing better to do why not join me on VP4TV where I live stream both to Youtube and Twitch.
Here are the most recent matches on the schedule for Live streaming, I look forward to welcoming you to the rest of the guys in chat.

i tried so hard to run vp online on my 2012 macbook and couldnt get the right drivers to run it with wineskin. ive been playing vp since vp2 for pc and i wish i could join the fun

Did you try contacting support on this matter vp4@celeris.com
Im sure that there are other people with similar issues that have gotten round this.
No, i haven’t, i don’t think dual booting old computers is their department. i emailed them a while back to see if there was a way to play online with mobile nowadays, since i had previously bought Virtual Pool Mobile to play online with a friend, and was told that there was no longer support for Game Center.

I bought the ipad version for $1 so i could play straight pool and although the frame rate isn’t as crisp as the free iphone version it’s probably the best game i’ve ever bought for a dollar, i play it for a few racks pretty much every night as i wind down for bed.

Still the best pool game.

I have Virtual Pool Mobile on my Android phone as well.

Hoping one day they make Virtual Pool games again.

Not even close. I got vp4 too but after i got Shooter´s Pool I touched vp4 maybe 2 times.

So, it uses the exact same control system.
Touched up graphics and physics.
Some more cuesports games.
Online only or stand alone?

Did not know about it, but I have not messed around with PC gaming for a while now.

I learned to play 3 cushion there. It is awesome on Shooter´s Pool. Now we have carom table in our club too(2 weeks). Best day so far over 1.0 whole day
