Vision And Tiredness

Just another quick question about fatigue and focus. I know it sounds funny as hell, but what's going on when your vision is cross-eyed? I'm serious. Sometimes when I'm competing my focus just criss-crosses the think I'm focusing on outta nowhere and I had to learn to discipline myself to stand up, chalk up, maybe walk around the table, before getting back down and refocusing on what I wanted to do.

Jackie Gleason went to the restroom to wash his face & hands, comb his hair & put a carnation in his lapel.

I'm probably wrong about something there.

I love that scene. It's genius. Fats gets his coat and powders up, while eddy is slumped in the chair "waiting to lose" as Bert Gordon puts it.

Not even Scorsese could depict a long grueling pool session like that.

And yes, it really does work late at night to reset.

Recently, I played a very good player from out of town and I was extremely tired during the close match and I knew the water lines held a lot of very cold water, so I went into the bathroom and washed my face, neck and let the cold water run over my arms until I felt that my temperature had been reduced and I felt revived.

It reminded my about OldHasBeen's story about refreshing your tired feet with a 6 gallon Kohler. A real classic on AZB, imo.

Maybe, you should try WDW's technique for dealing with being tired and stressed out.

Ekkes, I really do have to make a trip to see you at some point in the future. Your knowledge and teaching abilities always amazes me. Thanks very much for your thoughts.

Yes, I would take a pool lesson from Ekkes, too........
