Hi John,

I corresponded with Allen earlier this year about the Gabriels 9 Ball Open. Ain't happenen! Allen mentioned "no room" at the Inn this year. APA was too busy.

This is just a guess. What does Gabriels make? Pool Tables. What do they look like? Diamonds. Take a five foot walk from one and you can barely tell them apart. How do they operate? Greg Sullivan looked long and hard at the cue ball return mechanism. Who's tables does the APA use in Vegas? Diamonds. Where do they get them? Diamond Billiards. Coincidence?

Being an American who lived through the sixties, I appear to see a sinister plot everywhere (the medicine works I think). Seriously, I watched the crowd from both the stands and the players side. I was impressed with the number (and knowledge) of spectators. I was even asked for my first autograph. In the program no less! I agree with you that Allen's event was great. Some people got their first view of Thorsten Hohlmann, Nick Van Den Berg and Niels Feijen, who finished third I believe. I'm bummed!
 
Thanks Cardiac Kid. I remember what tournament we were talking about now. I just had to see the name of the tournament. That is very unfortunate that it will not be happening this year. I think there should be some type of pro event, whether it be tournament or exhibition, during all of the tournaments in Vegas. That way nearly everyone gets a chance to see some of the pros play. I do see your conspiracy theory in the making though. Makes sense to me.

John, I guess that answers the question of me being there for that tournament. Looks like I won't be coming back to Vegas until next year. Unless another tournament, exhibition or charity event shows up.

Hi John,

I will be in Vegas Sunday evening. I'm meeting a friend for our trip to Reno and the Sands Regency Open. Do you play at the Vegas Cue Club? Henry sponsored my team in the BCA's last month. When in town, besides the Cue Club, I frequent Pool Sharks, Dealers Choice on Friday nights and the Double Diamond Saloon at Jones and Cheyenne. Thumbs and Torch let me play as an eleven plus.
