Just wondered what people thought about these two events? i went to the BCA event last year and it restored my love of pool, the best event I have ever played in. I have the chance to go to the VNEA event this year and I just wondered how it compared?

Cheers

The VNEA sucks compared to the BCA in Vegas. Not sure about next year now with the fiasco that is APA and BCA duking it out but last year I went to both tournies and the BCA owns the VNEA hard in player numbers, prize money, player calibre, prestige of title, number of booths, pro's present (due mainly to the pro tourney in the same place at the same time), ect.... The VNEA was a real letdown last year, if I had not made money it would have been a total waste of my time.

I have been to the VNEA 4 times and have had a great time each visit. As far as it sucking compared to BCA, I would have to disagree but again, that is only my opinion. Give it a shot!
Our team finished tied for 9th a few years back, that made it much more fun I must say. Good luck to you if you go.

Thanks guys, Hey Celtic how did you go in both events. I finished 13th in BCA open and was just starting to play well by the end of the week, would love to have stayed for the VNEA as I heard the standard wasn't quite as good? I know there are less players but do you think the standard is lower in the VNEA?

Made the final board in both and then lost close matches pretty early, I think I made $300 in the BCA and $250 or so in the VNEA, not overly impressive but it keeps me out of masters status which is not a negative thing. Had I got masters status my team would not have got 4th in Toronto this year. =)
