I just saw that Danny was inducted over Oliver, but Oliver was a 3-1 favorite in the voting statistics.

If you're inducting solely off of 14.1 record, Oliver should have got this. Doesn't mean I don't HIGHLY respect Danny (and I think he's a done a ton for the sport), but Oliver is the finer of the two in 14.1 pedigree.

Sorry for pissing on everyone's cheerios, but I'm still struggling to figure out how candidates are selected and how they're inducted and who is auditing votes? If Oliver was 3-1 favorite here statistically (by the most knowledgeable crowd), that means Danny pulled in the Facebook votes?? Or, didn't he... and DP pushed him through anyways?

I'm not knocking Danny or anything -- I'm merely knocking DP's process. Sorry.

I agree with your post. Both Ortmann and Dallas West were, in my opinion, over-looked. DD is loved by everybody but a HOF should be the BEST player, not the MOST POPULAR.

Agree. And Danny was just inducted into the BCA HOF last year. So the pool world (or, rather, some small portion of it) will all celebrate Danny again less than a year later.

DP -- Just put Danny in automatically, along with the other 14.1 guys in the BCA HOF -- without much hoopla. Then concentrate on other deserving people who aren't already in a HOF because of (or partially because of) 14.1. But I guess it's too late for that now, right, since you have gone public with your plans for this year?
