if i must

Thanks MMike!
Mind share some details of your favorate tip?

I have several shafts for my main player, and I fix cues from time to time so I have made some more shafts for my main player.
On these shafts I experiment around with different tips ferrules and tapers.

I like ultra skins ,kamui triangle, I do like snipers but I have had issues with them delaminating.
Moori medium or soft and I am thinking of picking up some Ki Tech tips from Renfro.

I carry talisman and le pro and elk masters, green emeralds and some milk duds .

Ultra skins kamui. triangle and snipers would be my favorites.

I think it makes a major difference on what kind of shafts you use and what tip should be installed on it.
I think its allot harder to match up a tip on a laminated LD shaft then it is to find the right tip for a Solid maple shaft.

Over all it always breaks down to each and everyone's personal opinion.

That's why I try to carry lots of different brands of tips and some tips in stock I don't really care for...

G2. But for the past few months I've been using the TNT PROMAX and am just as happy.

Why do you think this? I have a laminated ld shaft. I have used and liked elkmaster and triangle. Tried a talisman and didn't care for it. Tried a junky laminated tip that delaminated and haven't went back yet. A couple others I experimented with but can't remember them.

I am not sold on any tip.

Really was the opposite for me finding a tip that would put any kind of spin on the cue ball was next to impossible for me.
You would need to know what happened .
And without going on another rant about a cue I bought I just rather say that some people prefer Laminated LD shafts and some people like the old fashion solid maple shafts.
This is the easy way because I really did get a lemon of a cue and shaft and I am tired off slamming the cue and its maker.
You should know that not all shafts are equal and I happen to get a few new cues that had laminated shafts and they fail apart in the matter of a few months.

Question for poll:

Do you guys think it will be more accurate to let people pick their top 2, or 3?
I didn't find any options in the poll setup for that.

It seems right now Kamui and G2 are the winners.
Well Triangle, KiTech, Ultraskins are good choices as well.

KiTech tips are great if you get a good one. The production is too spotty right now. A noticeable percentage of them are just junk, like a bad Lepro. They are almost crumbly.

I'm sure Chris is working on that and has heard it 100 times already. Just something to be aware of during their initial run.

The Tip off...

I'll bring my pick from the other thread....

I was on the Moori trip for a while, until I started getting really bad ones (I think maybe they were fakes) I went back to NOS TAD tips, non-layered buffalo with the red pad.
I just like the hit with ivory ferrules. A third shaft might have a Triangle with a pad... I think Triangles are still very good if you like a hard tip.
Break cue has a Triangle, double-pressed in a vice... the nuts.

The laminated tip I got had been discoed by the manufacturer. It wasn't a good make.

If you go to your favorite best restaurant enough, eventually you'll get bad service.

That's crazy about falling apart thing. I know the brand of cue I own doesn't get much respect in many places like here but I kept it in my trunk non stop for about 5 years. I live close to Lansing, MI. Zero warp, zero problems.

I get good spin of those tips, but I beat the hell out of them. Grind, tip *****, knurled steel...I get a new tip about once every 10-16 mos.
