Waiting List for a Searing?

he spoke to me for 3 holes of golf
told me i was next and could have 2 cues
this was 8 years ago
similar commitments were made
i would not take his word for anything
order one if you want to,but don't bet on ever getting it
he told me he likes to make cues for players
i told him i usually sell
he said no problem
i never represented myself any other way
i don't trust this guy and don't want a cue of his ever

Searing Cue
I been waiting ten years, he told me we would start the project last August, sent him a email every month since, no reply. Explained to him I was running out of time, I'm 64 years old, can he make my cue. As you can see, nothing but a liar, doesn't care, no responses received since August, not one email reply or phone call. Order one if you are lucky enough to contact him, his word is useless. Save your time and breath.

and said I should reapply i heard....sure.....
I have a friend who is a couple years overdue. I cant bring it up anymore as my buddy gets all red faced and goes on an angry rant that must take 2 years off his life if i do.
I needed a repair and wanted a custom shaft made. He never returned my call or email. He ain't the only show in town. There are as good and better cue makers around...and reputable to deal with. Forget about DS.
Hey...you have a reputation for being a gentleman and good guy....you are entitled to say it as it is. People need to hear real time customer comments/reviews. Being honest is not being offensive.

I don't know what it is.....arrogance and indifference come to mind but then again whom am I to judge as I've never even spoken with or even tried contacting Dennis Searing. If what's been written is true, and I haven't any reason to think otherwise based upon the number of replies, I'm disheartened that anyone would be that rude and inconsiderate.
Oh well, Joel's list is only 11 years and frankly, I'd rather own a beautiful Hercek cue instead of one made by Searing. And Joel is accessible, friendly and so very talented at full splice pool cues having been taught and mentored by the legendary Burton Spain.
I guess I'm different since I can't imagine waiting that long for anything, let alone a pool cue when I can buy one in the secondary market and save a decade of waiting time which at my age is awfully important . It just makes more sense to me......faster gratification from quick ownership of a Hercek cue, or Searing, via acquisition thru the resale market and have ten years of enjoying and playing with the cue instead of having to wait an eternity hoping my cue will eventually get made someday. I couldn't tolerate being taken for granted or ignored; maybe I regard myself too highly but if I'm paying top dollar to have my cue built, I expect and demand top notch service to earn my business.
If someone has the patience & moola and is willing to put up with what's been described as pretty abhorrent behavior by Mr. Searing, which I have to underscore may or may not be true, then by all means get on Dennis list of very tolerant customers. I have to admit he's a great cue-maker but this thread has taken on a Bill Cosby scenario the way other Azers have come along and added posts about Searing's behavior.
