Want a new case

I am in the case market myself. I had an opportunity to see a JB case up close last week. I was extremely impressed. Though, I am a fan of "Directional Tubing" like the old Porper cases. I want zero rattle inside. What other premium case makers have one direction entry??

IMHO, it doesn't get better than Whitten. http://www.whittencases.com/

I called joerackem and the case I want is on backorder :(.

I just may go all in and order the Whitten I want :thumbup2:
I emailed Joe (Whitten) over the Memorial Day Weekend (last week) about something and the guy answered me in less than 24 hours, during the weekend. Talk about customer service!

Wife: So you spent how much on a pool cue case?!?
Me: Honey, the less expensive model was out of stock. I can't control that, not like it's my fault.

Whiten cases are nice but IMO they don't wear very well. They use a real thin leather like upholstery leather. If you see a well used one you can see what I mean. If you plan to be gentle with it or don't care about that then they make a solid case for sure. After having a couple in years past, I don't think I'd buy another one though for those reasons.

No one. The old foam core cases were tapered. If you want I can build you an interior that only allows the cues to go in joint pins and tips first just like the old foam core cases.

I've owned a bizillion cases over the last 60+ years. I'm seriously
thinking of buying a 2x4 or 3x6 "It's George" for everyday use.
Now that they are available Brand New again, it's a great choice.
You might want to ask around. I have a brand new it's George in my shop for repair. All the rivets popped off and the customer got absolutely no help from the maker which is why he is paying me $150 to fix it.

That is wonderful to hear!!!! I am going to take you up on that as soon as I get back from Vegas!!! Thanks again!

So as some of you may have read on one of my posts, I am looking for a custom hard leather case.
The reason is simple. Transporting my best cues in a 6x12 case to the pool hall is a unnecessary risk.

So I took out my Instroke tooled leather 2x4 case yesterday & stopped by the pool hall to test my arm.
The test was successful, albeit for a scant 15 mins but I did confirm how much I love my new pool cues.

Here's the catch. I also confirmed why I stopped liking Instroke cases. There's 3 more in the closet.
I actually missed my 6x12 case.......not for the extra cues which was just added weight to lug around.

It was the side pockets......the two on my 6x12 have just spoiled me.......so I'd like to find a really nice
3x6 hard leather case that had really big, easy access side pockets and a nice rugged strap & brass.

I have a thread on this but figured why bump it since I had gotten great suggestions on case-makers.
The only catch was lead time & I don't want to wait longer for a case than I had to for one of my customs.
The resale market has been a dead end & when I have spotted a candidate, the pockets are too small.

So I find myself in a dilemma.....keep lugging a 6x12 really pretty case or live with a smaller case that
has horrible pockets which annoy me every time I have to use them......it really bugs the heck out of me.

John Barton makes great 3x6 and 4x8 cases with really large side pockets. Back to my point which essentially
was most cases have pockets too small. So might anyone have a Barton 3x6 or 4x8 hard leather case for sale?
