I know this isnt on cues but he would like to find a builder this Winter that would do an intricate Scrim Shaw cue.

What you really need to know

Most cuemakers don't do their own scrimshaw work. They'll do some basic engraving and filling on thier own, but any highly detailed scrimshaw is usually outsoucred. What you need to do is to look at the work of different scrimshanders and see if the cuemaker you want to work with will deal with them. I know Mottey and PFD have both used Salman Rashidi, and that Bob Hergert has done some fantastic cues recenlty for PFD. There is a lady that has done some cues I've seen also but I can't recall her name. Different people will be needed depending on whether you want color or black and white as well. If you're looking for delicate black and white though Bob Hergert is probably your best bet, his specialty is micro scrimshaw, you can see examples of his work, including some cue work at www.scrimshander.com
