I saw Efren play 8 ball. He ran out every time he came to the table. I remember years ago watching Gene the Machine Cooper play Joe Salazar 8 ball on a 9 footer. They played like 15 hours and it was just a war of running out. 3, 4, 5 racks were nothing for them and it went like that all night. anyone who knows Gene or Joe ask them about it. It was sometime around the mid 70's
 
Good video but they certainly missed more than once each. Still, a good match.

I met Salazar around 90 and he claimed to have almost never played on 9 foot tables.
Maybe Geno was working that angle.

Salazar played a good shortstop and gave the guy the 7(barbox) i said to Joe that is pretty strong. He scoffed and told me "When i cant beat that guy like that, i need to quit" . Strong words from a guy who doesnt brag!
