I am looking for a billionaire (preferably from the United States) that would like to have the title, “Savior of Pool.”
What is needed from you?
What I will provide.
Potential investors, please PM me your resume, level of interest, financial statement and application fee of $25,000. I can then decide if you are worthy of the title, “Savior of Pool.”
Thank you for your interest.
Oh, PS, any money left after the initial 2 year run will be put into an interest paying trust fund in my name so I can continue the life style to which I will become accustomed to. After 2 years, we will decide if we want to continue our relationship.
What is needed from you?
1) A minimum investment of $100 million.
2) A capacity to survive the “you are trying to buy pool” threads.
3) A thick skin to deflect all the naysayers that say it wouldn’t work.
4) A willingness to add 100+ dependents to your family or looking for a business failure to pay less tax to the government.
5) An attitude of keeping a “hands-off” approach and letting the money go down the drain.
What I will provide.
1) A business plan that will ensure that the top 128 players (not using a trade industry ranking) will make a minimum of $100,000 per year for 2 years.
2) Only I will decide who the 128 players are and set rules for those that receive the “dole.”
a. The 128 players will be chosen on the following criteria.
i. The ability to do “business” with me.
ii. Can beat an APA 7 in a race to one playing 8-ball with APA rules.
iii. Can lose and compliment the opponent on the win.
iv. Can lose and not blame the equipment (7’ Sears table with plywood bed, oversized cue ball and poker felt).
v. Has charisma enough to incite the crowd into a drinking rage to boost the additional revenue stream.

b. Any player receiving “dole” money must:
i. Volunteer 5 hours per week with junior leagues, boys and girls clubs or organized league players.
ii. Sign a morals clause contract that includes penalties or dismissal for illegal drug use, gambling, sex outside of marriage, drunken stupors or saying anything negative about the state of pool.
iii. Play in every event sanctioned by the newly formed pool entity, tentatively called, Roundball In Pocket (RIP).

3) Produce 6 tournaments a year for a two year minimum. The tournament format and requirements will be:
a. A $10,000 entry fee per player
b. A $5000 vig paid to me from any player with outside sponsorship
c. Limited to 128 players unless I can get/afford more than 8 tables
d. 8-ball, race to 1 in the preliminary bracket, race to 2 in the single knockout.
e. Preliminary brackets will be 16 brackets of 8 players, round robin. The player with the best record goes to the knockout round.
f. Will play 2 preliminary brackets per day so players can get their rest
g. The knockout round will feature 2 rounds of play per day
h. Any eliminated player MUST be in the audience and mingle with the “commoners” for the duration of the tournament
i. Eliminated players will get ½ off the admission price of $100 per day or $500 for the entire tournament
j. There will be NO ADDED MONEY as most of the players are on the “dole” anyway and a $1.28 million prize fund is big enough (TD, me, gets 10% of the prize fund for all the headaches I will endure)
k. 1st = $1,000,000, 2nd = $14,000, 3rd/4th = $10,000, 5/8th = $7,000, 9/16th = $5,000. The $50,000 that is left over will be given out by post-dated checks as door prizes.
l. Any 1st place winner will no longer be eligible for tournament play as they are apparently too good for the field (they will be represented on the brackets as part of the BYE family). They must though, still attend all events, pay entry fees and be in the audience for all the matches. They will still get 50% off the admission price. All those costs will be deducted from their prize money that will be held back until we see if expenses can be met.
m. The venue will be a site suitable for the magnitude of the event. Tentative sites include:
i. Zap, North Dakota
ii. Chokio, Minnesota
iii. Balltown, Iowa
iv. Camp Crook, South Dakota
v. Bangor, Wisconsin
vi. Deadhorse, Alaska
