Wanted for sale again

it takes roughly 4 minutes to scan through 6 or 7 pages of cues... and thats clicking on the ones that catch my interest.. i dont see a problem with the way the forum is.. the fast moving threads show how good the forum is advancing and is busy!

I know this has come up often but it's hard to let go the worse it gets. The average time for an item to be on page one is less than 2 hours during daylight. 7 pages deep in 24 hours. 14 pages by the time a bump is allowed. This is not only bad for sellers but also for buyers looking for something.

How hard would it be to break this up into sub forums? I mean really?

1) New Cues for sale
2) Used cues for sale
3) Cues for sale or trade
4) Non cue pool related items

We have sub forums for dead people here. How about the living?

IMO it will be hard to search across multiple forums for an item. Look how easy to search for an item at Amazon.com or Eaby one key word all it takes. What would be great if AZB software capable of highlighting search key word text in any given forum.

Just picked up sweet little Dennis Swift 1x2 for $150. On page 9. Sometimes browsing leads to good deals. :-)

So the buyer listed it, went to bed and you bought it when he woke up. Sounds about right.

I give up OK? Some things in life just defy reason.

Now I know how the missionaries must have felt telling the Amazon pygmy tribes about the lord.

Nah, I have no idea how long it was up, I didn't even look at it. It depends on my mood how far back I go as I don't pay attention to the WFS section every day.

I mean I totally understand where you are coming from but when you say it's better for the sellers I don't fully agree. For example I like straight pool but not enough to go to their section and have discussions about it.

But if a straight pool question pops up on the main forum and I happen to read it then I might have something I want to discuss. I personally feel that the way to promote straight pool is NOT to shunt it off to it's own forum but instead to have the discussions on the main forum where more players can be exposed to that great game.

Maybe a better answer is to have both.

Let the main WFS section stay as it is and have categories where anyone who wants to can post in both sections. That way they get the exposure to the people who like to window shop a dynamic forum and they get the classified sections for the people who know what they want and would like to go straight to it. I don't see this as a problem at all as there is no overlap and no extra strain on the forum. Only the seller has one extra spot to put his advertisement.

thinking about it, i'm not sure what the solution is. I can make a good case for leaving it as it is, and a equally strong case for change(several different cases).

What I cant do is conclude what the best solution is.

Best solution is for people to start buying.....:)
