Wanted - Kid's Cue, Need Advice

I need to buy a cue for a 10 year old girl. I am thinking that somewhere around 40" and as light as possible would be good.

I have found house cues online at 36" and 42", but most seem to have 13mm ferrules and who knows how heavy they are. Does anyone know a source for a quality house/2 piece cue that would be 40"-42", with ~12mm ferrule and ~14-16 ounces?

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Hi fd_colorado

Check out Mcdermott, they have a nice line of short cues for children, and I remember a friend of mine bought a cheap one from Player as well a while back for his sun.

Good luck

The modifications required (stated) would be pretty easy for any cue maker/cue repair guy to do, if you found a 40" or 42" cue close to what you want. They would also be able to do some specific alterations to suit the young lady.

kids cue

fd,

for what its worth i am not sure if you want the cue to be as light as possible. a proper stroke allows the cue to do the work. i purchased a short players cue for my daughter. she is 8 yrs old and the cue weighs 17 oz. she has no problem handling the cue. before i purchased the players cue she used a really light short one piece cue, and i noticed a big difference in her game with the " standard weighted " cue. i did have a local guy take the shaft diameter down to fit smaller hands. i would suggest that you ask this question in the instructor forum as well. hope this helps you.

She might really enjoy one of Robin's cues? The Drake Bell cues.

Shoot her a PM to see if she still has any left.

40" is to short IMO. Remember she's growing. I'm thinking 48"
