I started a blog in the cue gallery area if you can kindly post pics and opinions on this cuemaker. I have recently become interested in Bob Frey's work. I started a post in the main forum but not too much action there so I wanted to start one here. Another relatively under-appreciated cuemaker in the shadows of another / Tim Scruggs. Anyway, I was disappointed to find in reading the blue book 3rd edition and Bob was not in it. He was still posted with Tim Scruggs on his page. He has been in his own shop for a long time, since the early 90s if Im not mistaken and I think the blue book really dropped the ball on this one.

Not really

There are usually cues of his for sale at cuesnthings.com
Im not really interested in ones for sale but just more examples and opinions of his work.

Cuesnthings and Bob Frey

Jp has picked up a line of Bob's cues and is his distribitor as well as Mike Cochran's. I know of a few players mostly that collect Bob's cues and being road players will never post anything and like to think of these cues as thier secret weapon. I can tell you that even Bob is sterting to realize that his six month wait is a thing of the past and his waiting period will just get longer. It seeems no matter what he makes will be in the players hands that like to hide thier game. Every time a road player comes in town with one of his cues or a old Scruggs sneaky it is usually trouble for most of the local poolcooches. Now some tote his custom cue and will tell you it has a "F" on it or something. Everything changes, everything stays the same. I pick one up whenever I see one available. And just like a Scruggs cue it never disapoints me when I start to swing! Mr Bob said he has plenty of work. He didn't have time to conrtibute to the blue books editing too buisy. He feels enough people know about him and he sounds happy to say it. Bob's cues as I said have always been in demand but the demand was to a select few that is changeing every day. Nick

I may have shown this one before. It is not for sale, but I really think it is a nice example of his work.

What about that 4 point Frey

Bama has a four point Frey cue that he might sell cheap If he post pics Mr Paul you just might have to bite. It is a custom not a house cue conversion if I am right and would be close to 40% below a new one with no wait. Low cost way to see how his customs play! Then you might see why players like me think so highly of his cues play and construction. Nick

Thanks for the word, Nick. Here is the cue. It is a 4 point Bacote cue with thin rings above and below the wrap. Wrap is solid black Irish linen. Thought it was sold, but things happen. I will sell it with either 1 or 2 shafts...your choice. It has a nice thin butt and weighs approx 19.5 oz. I will sell it delivered for $350 with one shaft or $425 with 2. Open to trade offers, also.
