WANTED: Schon CX 60

I've wanted this cue for years (since college), however I decided it was best to conserve cash, and thus it has remained on my wishlist, only to be observed online every now and then.

Now that I am able to afford such things, I've just learned the cue was discontinued and getting a used one is my only hope. I've only got the medium quality product images to go on, so maybe this cue is not as attractive in person (?)... but years of waiting for the day I could afford to spend such money on a luxury item have really built it up in my mind.

I like the subtle beauty in its design, lacking colored stains or too many inlays. Does anyone here have one and can comment on the variability of the wood/design (compared to GIS or others), regardless of whether you are willing to part with it. ;)

There is this post (thread t=96341), however I have been unable to contact him. Looks like he no longer comes around here.

PS I've looked into other cues and am willing to spend more for other designs I do like as well or possibly more. If I can get this one for the right price, however, I'd prefer this to be my main shooter, given the time I've spent stalking.. er coveting... uh, admiring this cue.

I have a predator se-9 for sale. It has been retired and can be found on predators website. It's in very good condition. $800

Thanks for the help guys, but I'm almost certainly making my next buy a Schon. If I don't find this one, I already have alternates I'll likely choose from in a few months.

It's been nearly 25 years since I've bought a pool stick (oops, no there was that one Gem), but I've played with many custom and production cues. Schons have what I'm looking for, both in looks and feel. I may look further into custom cues later on, once I've further developed my taste and feel. A lot has changed since the days I bought my old Palmer!

To be honest, I haven't played nearly enough in the last 10 years or so to even know what I really want. When I was in HS, I used to have my prefs down precisely. Now I grab whatever house cue has a good tip and go.

I think Caverman has one.

I saw that one. Tried to link to it in my post, but hit the 5-post minimum to post links. (and now in quoting you):D

EDIT: Meant to say, I've have tried to contact TheCaveman. He seems to have not been around for a while and hasn't returned my PM

Check your PM. I'm not sure why you still PM me and post at the same time. I believe I explained why I do not want this particular cue. It's precisely that I DO know what I want and do not want, regarding the look of the wood and wrap. If I was to take this cue, I'd end up replacing the wrap, but I believe there is more that I would be unhappy with.

I'm letting this one go for someone who might appreciate the wrap more. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for taking more pictures with the flash less glaring. Can you re-upload higher resolution versions though? The reason I asked via PM, was to see if it might make a difference on the appearance of the wood. I can tell already the wrap isn't nearly as bright orange as the first pics. It makes a big difference to have the best possible representation of what it looks like in person, ya know? For this kind of money, I'm sure you'd want to know exactly if it's what you want before you buy it, correct?

Thanks again
