Wanted shaft machine

Greg's machine is based off the one I have. The same guy made his first one and mine. It works really well. If he didn't change the design (and I don't think he did) it does pivot and it has a bar that hits the edge of the table for the second taper. Both tapers are adjustable with the simple turn of a screw. You don't have to monkey with the saw blade. For what I've seen some of the shaft cutting machines going for Greg's is a bargain.

Thanks for the description, I could see some kind of ajustment there on the side, but the pics were not close enough that I could figure It out. So your saying It basically works on seperate duel tapers instead of a template/taperbar? Would love to see some closeups of one like It Myself.

You can cut as much or little as you want with the GScue machine. It has a simple taper screw adjustment as stated before. It works great though so far. Greg Circa would probably be upset with me since I am doing a lousy job of describing and selling his fixture. I used to turn my shafts on my metal lathe with the tailstock offset and make many very slow passes with my laminate router attached (waste of time and noisy).

If you want I can also take some other pics and upload them to show the adjustments this fixture has. The only draw back so far (easily fixed) is you have to watch it at the end of the pass to stop it. It needs to have the lead screw taken out and run on a lathe to remove the threads from the last inch or so, that way it stops traveling until you are ready to reset it and run your next shaft blank. A micro stop switch would also be another fix to shut it down.
