I am looking to get my hands on a Sneaky Pete, either new or used. Looking for one that has "NO" distinguishing marks. Basically want it to look as close 2 a house cue as physically possible. I have found some, but they have marks that just stick out 2 much. Also, IF possible would like 2 have it with 5/16-18 threads. Can someone help me out or point me in the right direction. Also, if someone has one willing to sell, PM me a price....Thanks..=-)

Sneaky snake goes dancin'

About 15 years ago I used a Biagio sneaky pete. It even matched the wood grain from shaft to butt and had a shorty ferrule on it (of course it "accidently" developed a house-cue-looking chalk ring). The only marking on it was a clear sticker on the back that was easily removed. I'm pretty sure they are out of business now though.

I just ordered a Dufferin/Ontario SP which might be a good choice as they make house cues with the same little round inlayed logo. They even have the weight branded on the butt. I'll let you know if I wasted my 20 bucks or not when it finally arrives. It has a long ferrule which should be cut back if you want real stealth, and no telling how the shaft match will be. I got mine for 1$ plus $20 in shipping.

Dufferin

They have a mixed ratio of good ones and bad ones, well its the dice you roll for buying any cue online. I hit a dufferin about a month ago and did not like it, but a local legend plays lights out with his giving the 6 ball wild.

I'm still interested in ALOT of the SP's. I just havent made up my mind on what i wanna go for first. Like the above person stated, cues shoot different for different people, so u know how that goes. Would hate to spend close 2 a hundered on a SP when the el cheapo $30 SP would do just as good. Although i will say, IF i had my choice, i'd take the OLD Meucci SP, before the reddot and blackdot shaft days. And before Meucci started putting that black ring around the butt near the bottom of the points. Too me that stick just sticks out wayyy 2 dang much, LoL. Also, i say this because me personally i shoot with a Meucci Originals on a normal shooting bases. Havent found an old meucci that i didnt like 2 shoot with. But then again, this is my personal opinion, so im sure there are better ones also. I just know im really comfortable with an old Meucci. As for the new ones, UGHHHHH, good firewood, LMAO.....=-)

Yeah, no telling how high the prices will go on those before the auctions are over. I did find an old meucci SP, but the guy wants $130 for it. Just cant decide if i want to spend that kind of money on one, or just get a cheap one for about $30 bucks and see how it shoots. I should be smart and just buy a cheap one, see how it does. If i dont like it, just look for me a Meucci and be done with it. Sure i can sell the cheap SP for what i got it for, or atleast pretty close...=-)

I have a New Dufferin Phanton SP retails for $90, sell for $75! They are no longer in business, quantities are limited! I only have one left!

low end sneaky petes

Dufferin cues are always solid and well made. Any cue that can withstand years in a pool hall taking recreational players abuse has got to be made well.

In the $30 range I'd also recommend a Players sneaky pete cue. I see them on eBay with a B-I-N price of $39. Also well made cues.

Course, if you LOVE the Meucci sneaky pete.. you might consider shelling out the $100 to get one. Spread that cost out over the years you'll use it and it's not that bad of an investment. And you never know, get yourself into a little action and it could pay for itself in one night. :D

ever think of finding a bar cue you like and having a cue maker cut it in half and put a pin in it and a good ferrule and tip ?

I aquired a OG canadian Dufferin, with the pin in the shaft. And that thing looks as close to a bar cue as can be. I had to do a double take and check to see if it actually was a two piece. The thing plays decent. And is totally a sleeper.

I even had a friend want to buy it, so he could just bring it, into bars to hustle some drinks lol.
