cuesblues said:Alex Brick would charge at least 350.00 to 400.00 for this cue, so used it looks like 250.00 would be a pretty good deal. I don't remember anyone saying or asking about the collectability of this cue, and of course it's not collectable.

BLACKHEARTCUES said:I only mentioned collectability, in an effort to educate the poster. If a cemakers work is deemed collectable, then his work will probably increase in value, even though used. Players interested in buying used Qs, are interested in BARGAIN priced Qs. If you show a buyer this Q & a new $250 cue, he will probably pick the new one. In no way am I demeaning Alex's work, but quite frankly, I doubt that anyony in my area, has any idea of who he is. Therefore this Q would have difficulty selling used, for $100 in my shop...JER

cuesblues said:I knew about Alex Brick cues when I first joined AZ Billiards, and there are several members that play with them, as well as some fairly well know members that have several of them. Alex is also a champion level pool player. I didn't hear of Blackheart cues until I met your son at the Guitar Center here in Denver not too long ago. I sent you a very complimentary email and didn't get a response, and I did feel ignored which is fine. I am a collector, I own about 140-nice cues, last night I quit counting when I got to 40-cases, all nice high end cases, and some are very collectable. I bought an Alex Brick / Davis blank conversion, lace wood with Zebra wood points because I liked they way it looked, and I plan on getting a sneaky from Masonh who works in his shop. There are some of us out here that have a passion for cues, I play on 4-teams, practice whenever I can, and I support my local cue builder. There are so many people curious about what cue I am playing with, or what I think about their cue or the value of a cue, that it is getting hard to practice.
I would never insult a cue builder for any reason publicly regardless of the situation, and I would never value one of your cues at 75-bucks, regardless of the my design preference. The shaft is worth that much, and a friend of mine sold a similar Alex Brick cue on AZB for $400.00 that was a little nicer because it was made of Brazilian rosewood.

FWIW this cue will retail at 3 to 5hun.
