Wanted to share a neet experience.

Charlie Williams at SBE

This past SBE I ran out on Charlie Williams on a 9 foot Diamond. He was breaking made one on the break, then 2 more. Got bad on the 3 missed it, but left me a long safe. I left him a tough hit. He hit it and left me a good start, then I ran from the 3. Running 6 balls in perfect shape with every shot to beat him. Nice guy. No pressure for me, he's Charlie Williams, who am I??

His autographed photo is hanging in my practice room, he's still watching me run out!

During the Archer/Earl pool school stop at Big Dog's in Des Moines I we all got to play Archer a game of 8 ball on a 9 foot Diamond. The idea is you break and Archer will help you through the rack. If you miss, he will try to get out and explain what he is doing on each shot.

In our group everyone broke but no one got out. I was the last to try. I broke and ran the table. I could count on 2 fingers how many times that had happened before then. I just don't play on the 9 footers very often. Heck I probably haven't ran out on the 9 footers since!

Johnny just smiled and gave me a fist bump. Earlier, Earl had been telling me he could fix my stroke but can't help my crappy aim lol.

lol leinen :) I only had slightly more chance playing guitar vs. him than playing pool. But I would much rather lose at pool to him than win at guitar. He was a great guy, very affable and easygoing, and ran racks of 8b by rolllllllling them in oh so slowly at pocket speed. Like he wanted to make a point to those watching that you don't need to bang 'em in.
