My first stick was simple and understated. I wanted to make a statement that I was paying for the function, not all of the fancy inlays... Then I saw firsthand the steps and the craftsmanship that goes into a nice cue and well now my cue has some inlays

I just did a clean out of my workbench. I’ve got so much crap, just like everyone else. Tip shapers and tip burnishers, tapper and prickers, tip clamps, five bridge gizmos, three mid-cue extensions, two limbsavers, every chalk brand known to man, chalk pouches, a chalk grinder, three ball polisher, a single cueball polisher (wtf???), plastic slide sleeve, a dozen chalk holders, …

It’s a plastic thingy to grind down the face of a cube of chalk after it’s been “poorly” used. I’ll snap a photo sometime today. Seemed like such a great idea at the time.
There's a similar device to flatten the face of chalk. It's fairly cheap. It's called SandPaper
. I lay a piece of 80-100 grit on a flat rigid surface and swipe left to right (or right to left) until the face is smoothened out.
