They were around $100. Idk if the price dropped in later years. Mine was a waste too, at the higher price point. You bought 4?
Pockets are not getting smaller, they just appear that way when the Earth is at its greatest distance from the sun. As far as adjustable balls, supplies are running thin because of late shipments from the manufacturer who builds them on the planet Uranus.I hope Aramith releases extra sets of balls at different diameters and adjustable weight.
Now that pockets are getting smaller I would like to practice with bigger and heavier balls or lighter and heavier balls, always more dense, never the original weight.
The adjustable weight ball would be fun to have for tricks and demos.
I dropped my cue shaft portion while removing it from the bag and damaged the shaft itself. The cue is now in for repairs because I dropped it on concrete. If a tip protector were on the stick it probably wouldn't have been damaged. I really don't care for tip protectors because they are a bit of a pain in the rear, and probably won't use them in the future, but one would have probably saved my cue from damage.Joint protectors. Two piece cues were just fine for 75 years or so but now you need something to protect the joint? Next thing you know they'll be making a joint protector protector.
I know some will disagree.
Same thing for whatever tip they think does this or thatI can’t believe how many people, even some very good players, believe ball xyz is heavier/lighter/bigger/smaller than ball abc. We have so much actual data proving they are not.
Wow. I bought mine 10 or 15 years ago for $25.No the retailed about 90-100 bucks a pop
No way!! Seriously??
HahahaNo way!! Seriously??
Played for 30 years without 'Joint Protectors'. Never used nor saw the need for them.
Now I gotta run out and buy 'protector' "holders" for the 'protectors' I didnt need but bought anyway to keep up w 'dem "Joneses!!"Lawd, Hep Me!!
Joint protectors. They amuse me.What pool related item do you feel was a waste of money? Whether it is an expensive cue, training item, or other nicknack, what item do you feel you wasted your money on ? I ill start by saying the Buddy Hall cue guide is something I never use. Maybe you love yours, but I never use mine.
Buddy Hall Cue Guide

I may have alluded to the wrong accessory, I meant joint protectors in my story above. I didn't have joint protectors on and the shaft fell on the concrete floor and was damaged. As far as tip protectors, I went to the local hardware store and bought some similar to what you show in your attachment. They fit perfectly, and about 50 cents per unit. I don't use them very often as I should, all the little gizmos muddy up my convenience. Although, I would not have my cue in repairs right now if I had the joint protectors on.Tip protectors are actually useful - they keep your case cleaner, and you can avoid the hassle of wiping chalk off your tips prior to putting them in the case if you are trying to keep it clean.
I bought these on Amazon, not a bad deal at $5.50 for a 20-pack and you can give the extras to friends. I recommend buying ones about 1 to 1.5mm smaller than your tip so they fit tighter:

i have a joint protector holder. I actually have 2. They come with every pair of pants i buy. These actually aren't a horrible idea. If you do have jp's they can roll and get hid on the poolroom floor pretty easy. Now, whether or not jp's themselves serve a huge function is argument fit only for justnum and his mom's basement AI machine.![]()
It works great IF you use it right. Have to use LIGHT pressure and speed to get the static elec. built up. I've used one a lot and it removes a boatload of chalk. If yours wasn't getting full of chalk quik you weren't using it right. I did four tables at the hall one day and took it outside. Knocked it on the bricks and CLOUDS of chalk dust came off. If you know where i can get them for 25bux i'll take a few, they're about 100 new.I'm going to add one more to the list: The Simonis X-1 for removing chalk from the cloth. I've concluded that it cannot be doing anything because I've never seen any buildup of chalk on the pad other than a nominal amount when breaking it in. If the chalk isn't adhering to the X-1 pad then it is just getting smeared around the cloth. Waste of $25.
Again these work as advertised, if not better, ONLY if used correctly. Most people push down too hard with no speed. Have to use very light pressure and rapid strokes. I've used on a freshly vac'd table after a few rs of play. It removes a lot of chalk dust.
i had a jp in front pocket once. i had to reach for a long ball and leaned into the table skirt. YOW. that jp dug into the front of my thigh. not good. i just put them in case now.i have a joint protector holder. I actually have 2. They come with every pair of pants i buy.
Apparently I had used it wrong. I'll give it a try in a couple of months using your method. The reason I say "couple of months" is because I just recovered my table and have been using Taom chalk. If I find out I don't need it you have one for 25 bux.It works great IF you use it right. Have to use LIGHT pressure and speed to get the static elec. built up.
