Thats the nutz Lee. When your taper machine made that pass about how much was it taking off? Very Impressive.............

you change the numbers and take 2 thousands if you want or take 25 thousands when doing 8 at a time 25k is really 50k which would be a hog pass we do the tapper and run a clean up of 10k this machine is more for dowels and the first few passes vs finish shafts though it will do both when doing finish size shafts you need to turn the feed speed down to 6 i-10 inches per min.
