Watch the US Open live?

So I guess the only way to watch the US Open live is to go to Matchroom's website & open an account & you have to give your credit card just to see how much it costs? I went there in person yesterday & it was unwatchable as a spectator, so I went home to watch on the internet & it's basically impossioble.

Why doesn't Matchroom post a link in the "live stream" area of AZB? Wouldn't this be their largest pool os potential viewers?

It is more of a video production than a live spectator event. You can't see anything from any where. I've been to over 20 live US Opens & this was the worst from a live spectator perspective. Video is good but can't find it.

It’s watchable on the final day since it’s down to one table, and the arena is set up.

Yes, but if Matchroom wants to build in-person viewing they're going to have to do much, much better on the arena design. The UK Open viewing at the Copper Box was pitiful.

NFL games are the same way now. The best seat in the house is at home in front of a big screen.

I believe they have no interest in live spectators. Just enough to fill the background. Their sights are set on TV viewership.

I actually like watching football in person better than on TV if you have decent seats.

My main complaint watching football on TV is that they don't show you the whole field, so you can't tell if a receiver is open. In person, you can see the whole field and see the plays developing better.

I think they have a great deal of interest in a live audience. We've seen the Mosconi Cup audience go from about 250 (first year in Las Vegas) to over 2000 in Alexandra Palace. That's approaching half a million in ticket sales.
