Water Buffalo Tips Have Changed?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a very hard tip that is non layered. I have been selling WB tips to players who want a hard tip but don't want to pay out for the Moori Quick.

About a year ago I had one of the best players in my room ask for a new tip on his cue. He has been using WB for years and the sound and feel of these tips is built in to his stroke. He plays at least 30 hours a week and has a great feel for his stroke.

After I put on his tip he came back to me and asked me if there could have been some mistake on the tip I put on because he said the tip is not the same. I said lets try another one maybe it's a defect. I put three more tips on from the new box and all were not hard enough.

I sent the new box back to my supplier and asked for a new box. When it arrived, those tip were not as hard as they used to be either. I have since heard that Tweeten is now making these tips in China. I don't know if this is true or not but something has changed and I can tell when I machine them.

I am looking for a hard non layered tip. Any suggestions?

A lot of peolpe that like hard tips are raving about Super Pros. Sumo is another very hard tip. I honestly don't know if the Super Pro is wb or not - Sumo is.
I don't care for a real hard tip, but from all the accolades on the board - I recommend you search on Super Pros.

super pro is both wb and very hard, but it is layered.

i'd recomend triangle or lepro and press it out in a vice real good before installing. both are cheap, classified as hard and made of wb hide. the vice press with compress and give it a more hard, broken in feeling when installed.
