Waxing diamond PRC rails

The PRC material is finicky if you try to wipe it down with something it goes a chalky color. Tried the actual diamond approved compound. You need some knowledge/skill to throw that stuff down.

Anyway tried a high grade carnauba turned out pretty decent.

No offense but why?? Just gonna get smudged again. As long as a table's rails are free of chalk dust i couldn't care less about the look. Nice table btw. I've seen pics of the brown prc and to me it looks like s%^t. Literally. Black-n-blue looks great.

With the newer LED diamond lights they throw
more light out to the rails. It makes the rail color look really washed out.

You definitely don't need to do this. I just prefer the rails to look a deep dark black vs grey.

Indeed, to be honest PRC is a lot more grey than black. They use a wheel polish that turns it jet black at the factory but that finish comes off easily over time and you need air tools with a buffing wheel and a specialty compound to get it back to factory spec after a few months. I wish the color was a deeper black with the PRC itself.

Nice table. I also prefer the matt black & blue look. I was recommended to use orange oil stuff and it works great on my black GC. All natural & available cheap on Amazon. Just apply sparsely with a damp micro fiber towel & buff out with another soft dry one. I do it every few months when I do a full table vacuum & wipe down. Might like it

Little bit off-topic but what do you guys do to stop the diamond pockets from staining the balls? Hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread. Nice table by the way.

Two things I do

A) buy a set of dynaspheres, they resist those black marks better than the aramith sets.
B) Get a diamond polisher. It takes those marks off no problem. They really are worth the money.

P.s. I have noticed as those liners break in they don't mark up the balls as much.

The problem isn't cleaning the balls, the problem is that once they're clean they get dirty immediately. One rack is enough to have some dark spots on the balls haha.

I'll look into the dynaspheres balls.

I noticed after a year or so on my table, I got a lot less of those scuff marks. Anyway, the dynaspheres really are resistant to them in general.
Aramith duramith are super nice, but I can confirm the Dynasphere’s resist all forms of dirt the best. But I don’t play on Diamonds much, sadly.

List of ball weights:https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/pool-ball-weights.536976/ There is NO way you can tell the tiny weight differences while playing. Seriously doubt that size is any different.
I've weighted my balls to the 1/10 of a gram. I also have a Willard Ball Size gage. The 3 in my tournament set is the lightest and smallest. At Buffalo's there's a set that the 1 ball is so small you can't put it anywhere other than a corner. If I could get a refund on the tournament set I would. Other than racking you can't tell the difference.

I just wipe my PRC rails with a damp microfiber. When I'm really feeling spunky, I hit them with some Pledge. I make it a point to spray the rag and not the rails to preserve the cloth.

I think I might try this next go around. Does it dry with no residue?
