Whats wavy joint exactly? What pin size does it fit?

That's Mezz's proprietary joint.

Quote from Mezz's wevsite...

"Mezz Wavy joint system has a longer shoulder to help locate the pin into the center of the hole for more accurate installation and the unique double threads shape of the wavy pin will join solidly into the wood of the shaft precisely.
This Miki’s original metal-to-wood joint construction (the flat-faced, wood to wood joint) gives you the solid Mezz feel while delivering the power of the stroke and transmitting feedback to the hand firmly.
If you like the flat-faced wood-to-wood joint, precise alignment and an extremely solid feel, no other metal-to-wood joints come close to competing with the Mezz Wavy joint system."

Ok so i guess my question is will the shaft fit on a regular 3/8 x 10 pin?

no it won't. just like if i was selling a shaft that fit a radial pin it wouldn't fit a 3/8-10. it fits the mezz wavy joint.

this is really only going to going to be able to be used by someone that has a mezz cue with a wavy joint. i guess you could get the shaft and have a local cue maker dowel it and re-tap it for a 3/8-10. it would still be cheaper then getting a WD700 with a 3/8-10 from mezz.

nobody out there with a wavy jointed mezz wants a spare shaft for a good price?

I'm pretty certain a radial does fit a 3/8x10. It just doesnt work the other way around. A mezz united joint fits 5/16 x 14 but a 5/16 x 14 shaft won't fit on a mezz united joint.

Radial is nothing more than a tapped out 3/8 x 10.

not true at all, radial and 3/8x10 have completely different thread pitches. no hope of compatibility between them.

Then mine must have been an anomaly, I had a jump shaft that I brought to docs cue shop in mn, and they made my 3/8x10 shaft fit both my jump cue (3/8x10 pin) and my break cue at the time(radial). So I can tell you with certainty that it is in fact possible.

yes, the case you mention is possible. but that doesn't mean the two threads are similar or "compatible". that just means someone ran two different taps into it to double thread it. i've had a shaft like that too....it's not really a good practice though, it's quite easy to cross thread when putting on the shaft and mess up the threads.

bump to the top for a great playing shaft at a great price!!!

Actually, a 5/16X14 shaft does fit the Mezz United Joint. I regularly play with 2 Mezz's and just sold 2 predator shafts with a 5/16X14 joint that I used on them. A 5/16X14 piloted works best, but a flat face works also.

that's what i said earlier. Bump to the top this shaft is still for sale. the shaft is in great shape and can't be fuond cheaper anywhere else.
