I watch pool on ESPN just about every day. I'm tried of seeing the women's tour on ESPN. I think some of the men pro players or someone needs to get together and from association for men procket billards. It's seems the woman have there stuff together why can't the men get there chit together? Come on guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the others think we need a mens pro tour on t.v?

Of course I voted - FOR A MENS PRO TOUR ON T.V.

Hopefully, the ATS will turn into a televised tour in the future.

There's 1 major hinderance about getting a Men's pool tour on TV... there's just too many tours and events up and running, in order for any kind of TV network to decide which is the most played on tour with the highest number of top shooters that are recogniseable on TV :)

The Men's pro circuit seems to be much less organized, than the Ladies, and I think that in itself plays a large part in how they they have achieved a regular TV spot on ESPN :)

When the PBT was up and running, there were seemed to be regular events being shown on ESPN with alot of the top guns shooting for the cheese, although for some reason the PBT broke down, which is a disappointment, but that's how life is, I guess :)

I don't know if it is a suggestion, an idea worth looking at, or if it's a load of crap ready for the rubbish bin, but perhaps if there was a way to have the PBT set up again, as a governing body that works with the BCA, that also includes a player's council/commitee, where all decisions and suggestions that are being made for the tour's operations, alterations, etc, that it has to be put to the players upfront and is put to a vote, before any decision is made :)

I know that it may sound a bit idealistic, but as far as I can see, from the outside looking in, the Men's pro circuit needs to a bit better organized than it is today, and I would rather see 1 major tour with many sponsors, than many smaller tours with only 1 or 2 sponsors :)

Men's Pro Tour

 Professor,

The UPA is a men's pro tour, what they are lacking is sponsors, the dollars necessary to compete with the ladies tour without the backing of the pool industry pool will continue to be fragmented as it is today with regional tours carrying the lions share of interest, if it wasn't for the love of pool, the dedication of many of the tour directors, pool would be relegated to the hustlers and road warriors, would be dependent on them for it's survival, which is a scary thought.

More support is needed for the UPA, I think that is the vehicle needed to move men's pool to new heights.

Just my humble opinion.

I like the regional tours in my area. I play the A.P.A twice aweek in my area every time i play on league night i have to pay my league dues of $7.00 everynight i play. I feel like i give my money to the womans tour, since a.p.a is there main sponsor and i tired of it. I wish the tournament directors of regional amatuer events would come together instead of having a war over whoose going to do better than the other, whoose going to make the must money and who going to put who out of business. WE THE AMATUER AND SHORTSTOPS SPONSER POOL AND YOU GUYS. If guys would take 15% out of each entry fee of each amatuer event player , along with small sponsors we could have the money for a pro mens tour with a governing body instead of cutting the tournament money to death and pocketing it this could happen. I understand about putting food on the table and expenes but dam do the math come on!!!!!!! We could do this guys come on and help our men pro players!!!! JUST MY 2 CENTS and by the way i'm a member of 3 tours in my area.

You're dreaming, if you believe that's the way the PBTA operated. It was a dictatorship, run by Don Mackey...and it was 'my way or the highway' with him! Please!...the LAST thing we need, is having Don Mackey back in pool!:yikes:

I certainly agree with you, that the men need much better organization, than is currently offered by any one entity. The Viking Tour has several major sponsors, and a couple of dozen co-sponsors...that's a lot more than "1 or 2 sponsors".

It's been the same, for the past 50 years. Nobody has been willing, or able, to organize the men pros, into any sizeable cohesive unit. The IPT was probably the closest they were gonna come, to 'respectable income'... however, it turned out to be another failed, planned attempt, at bringing the players together. The one good thing about the IPT, was that they pitted the men and women together, which was great, as well as justifiable.

Who wants to join? We need all players and supporters to join one free and fair organization that does not try to rule the world and police all the players and promise the moon. There needs to be a ranking formula to include all current added money events. I suggest rules against regulation of player conduct and for open tournament access and that all money (excepting sponsor money for specific purposes) made by the organization is split among the players in some equitable manner. What rules would you suggest?
