On November 3-4 I will be doing a fundraiser at Capones for 3 year old Brandon Amato that has lieukemia. I will be trying to pocket 10,000 balls in 24 hours, breaking it down into two 12 hour shifts.

(See sticky at the top)

I want to challenge businesses within the billiard community to donate a dime or a quarter per ball to this cause. The family has been under a lot of financial stress and hardship due to the medical bills - and they could use as much help as possible. Please open your hearts and support this cause.

They are setting up an account for the family at this time - I should be able to post that information in the next few days - waiting on Louie at Capones to send me that information. As soon as I get it I will post it. As of now, we are look for pledges from those that can help. Aybody that wants to help out can contact me at 407-873-0298, or Louie Smith at Capone's (352) 688-9965.

If you have a local cuemaker around you might ask him to donate a cue as a raffle item. I do it occassionally and did when I lived in Phoenix.

But an fyi, cuemakers are continually asked. As a one man shop, I can't (and neither can a lot of c/ms) always help so if your local c/m can't then that is ok.:) And some would rather give $$ just like the rest of the players.

And good for you!

This is an update on this fundraiser...

I will begin pocketing balls at 11 AM on Saturday morning - and continue pocket balls for 12 consecutive hours at light speed - breaking at about 1130 - and returning the next day to do it all over again.

My goals is to pocket 10,000 balls by days end on Sunday
donate a penny a ball - a dime per rack -
- but the number of balls I pocket really isn't important.

We are raising money for this family that has been burdened by the financial hardships of this disease. All help will be greatly appreciated.

You can donate any amount to this cause - we have a site set up for donations. The web site does not accept pay pal donations. If you would like to make a pay pal donation, get with me privately.

Here is the webpage for those who wish to donate -

Donations for Brandon Amato

Thank you so much, John.

I have the shoes all figured out (a pair of comfortable Dr. Scholls tennis shoes) -

I'll be skipping the coffee - perhaps an energy drink every so often - only one - just to get the motor going...

My main concern is on Sunday - I know that I will be extremely sore and I will still have 12 hours to go. I have Parkinson's, so every day is a new adventure with the stiffness and soreness and of course the shaking...lol ... so I might invest in a bottle of Alieve tonight - just in case.

At least with the time changing this weekend, I will get an extra hour of rest - which will help out a lot.

I would like to encourage everybody in the area to stop by and say hello - or to watch me fly around the table at light speed ... basically what I will be doing is playing speed pool racks for 12 hours each day, trying to get to 10,000 balls. We will have several items to raffle off - all proceeds going to the Amato family.

Thank you to everybody that has already donated to this cause - it is greatly appreciated!
