Weak "draw shot" application

Check out SVB shot at 1 min 21 seconds on the 6 ball, SVB hit the CB for what was initially was a draw shot, but as there was not enough spin, balls moves forward for the correct shape on the 7. What is the difference or advantage between this shot and using a shot with top spin to get correct shape on the 7?

Drag shot.

It allows for a firmer stroke and more cb speed than a super slow roll while still minimizing follow distance.

While not necessarily the case here, it's an especially good option for longer shots where roll off might be an issue on a slow roll.

A similar shot is the "stun run-through" where it is not quite enough back spin for a stop shot. Often played at firm speed and over a shorter distance.
