Last week we had 19 players. I believe some of our regulars didn't show because of the poor weather. However, for those who made it, we got to see some good pool playing. We had one new player, Scott B. And to those who feared we would never see Victor and Mel again, they were here. Our hot seat match was played between Big Rich (12) and Bruce (8), which went to Rich. Unfortunately for Bruce, he could not beat Dinko (16) on the one loss side. The finals were then played between Rich and Dinko, going hill - hill, in one set to Rich.

Congrat's to our top 4 players

Big Rich ( 200 / 300 )
Dinko ( 120 / 180 )
Bruce ( 60 / 80 )
Victor

ps: only one player change for next week. dinko ^ 17.

Results from 2/4/09. Last night we had 22 players. I wanted to welcome back John D. and Manny. The finals were played between Big Rich and Mike D. Alot of safeties were played, however the Rich showed he can jump balls well. The last rack Rich jumped, pocketed the ball and proceeded to close the set. The finals were one in one set. Congratulations 2-peat Rich.

Congrat's to our top 4 players
Big Rich
Mike D.
Jerry R.
Jim G.

Nice shooting Jerry, not quite a giant slayer. But you stepped on some toes.

WOW ! Great turnout last week. 24 players. Welcome backs go out to Scott B, Jeff J. and Tav. I also wanted to welcome Al L. to the tourn. There was alot of great pool played. The hot seat match was between Carl H. and Al L. which went to Al L 5-3. Carl met up with Scott B on the one loss side. Another great set, which went to Scott B. With a strong effort, Scott lost to Al L. in the finals 5-3. Good safeties and great kicking on both their parts !

* The number of players is continuing to grow. This is good news, however we must start the calcuta as close to 7:30PM as possible. Please be there on time. Practice starts at 6:30.

Congrat's to our top 4 players
Al L. (240 / 400 )
Scott B. ( 120 / 200 )
Carl H. ( 80 / 120 )
Jimmy L. ( 40 / 60 )

ps: Player changes for next week:Players going down include: Mel (13), Rafael (13), Jim R (16)

Another good tournament last week. I wanted to welcome to Dave who currently plays in the APA. And welcome back to Easy Al. There was a lot of great pool played. The hot seat match was between Mario and Scott. Mario said he was tired, but it didn't show in his performance. He won that set. Scott then went on to play Jimmy R on the one loss side. The score was hill-hill and the final game became a chess match. Final outcome Scott caromed the 8 off the 3ball. The final round was split based on the players decisions.

Congrat's to our top 3 players
Scott B & Mario - split (320 / 560 )
Jimmy R. ( 60 / 110 )

Holy cow! Everyone started to crawl out of the wood work. 28 Players last week. I wanted to welcome back Jimmy D, . . and Mike Hart out of retirement (again).

Once again, alot of great pool playing, but an unexpected twist for the hot seat. Walt (8) and Bruce (8) played the set, favoring Walt 5-3. Way to go Walter . . . (flying under the radar for weeks) . . . He was unstoppable on the winners side. From the one loss side, Al L was making his way back from an earlier loss to Bruce on the (W) side. He went up against Mike H, then Bruce, to get to the finals against Walt. Al L won the first set hands down, but started slipping the 2nd set. Walt had a couple attempts at combos with money balls, that fell just a little short. Kudos to Walter !!

RESULTS FOR 3/4/09

Holy cow doesn't even begin to describe it. So many old and new faces last week. Welcome backs to Frank B, Ryan B, & Tom White (Delaware Tom to everyone now). This was also Chris G first tourn since his return from Hawaii. Sorry about the snow, but thanks for the pineapples ! New welcomes to Eddie H and Sandy from Sand Castle. Some great pool playing prior to the finals. One set between Eddie H and Jim R caught everyones attention. Looked like standing room only. That set ended with Jim winning to go on to the hot seat. Wish I could say the play got better, but I'll chalk it up to getting late. Both players in the finals ran out of gas and decided to split

RESULTS FOR 3/11

How many times can we say "hill - hill" . . . . Last night the hot seat match between Phil and Don got off to a rocky start. Don was up 3-0 race to 5, . . .Phil then regrouped and beat Donny 5-4. . . . On the one loss side Jimmy R. was coming back. He beat Don 4-3 to get to the finals. . . The first set of the finals went hill - hill again, with Jimmy winning 5-4, . . . both players agreed to a split before playing the second set. * * Kudos to Phil for making it to the finals. Way to play strong !

Congrat's to our top players
1st Split Jim R (320 / 470 )
Phil C.
3rd Don ( 70 / 100 )
4th Big Daddy ( 30 / 50 )

RESULTS FOR THE BIG TOURN ON 3/15

Our Big Tourn on Sunday was a success. 21 players all together. Excitement was in the air during the calcutta. There was a huge prize fund as a result. The winners side ended up with Mario ( 15 ) beating Big Rich ( 13 ) in the hot seat. . . On the one loss side Dinko ( 17 ) was climbing his way back from a early loss. When Dinko met up with Rich, it was all or nothing. Rich put his game into gear and went right past Dinko. The finals between Mario and Rich were another unusual match. Rich kept his game in gear and beat Mario the first set. It was decided among the players they split.

Our next tourn will be this Wed 3/18, Practice at 6:30PM - Calcutta approx 7:30PM. Reminder the Super Billiard Expo is this week 3/19 to 3/22 in the Valley Forge Convention Center.
* * Please also remember sportsmanship is part of the game. There is a lot to be said regarding fair play, courtesy, and grace in losing. * *

Congratulations to our top 6 players
