Weight bolt, heavy 1 inch???

I need a heavy 1 inch weight bolt for a Schon. I believe it's 8/32.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

OK, 8/32 is the size of the small Allen hd bolt that holds the bumper on.
The wght. bolt itself is 3/8x16, industry std.
Schon has a custom cut hd on their wght. bolt.
Otherwise, a std flat-head stove bolt will work if you can under-cut the shoulder. But then you'd have to drill & tap for the bumper bolt (8/32).

As fate would have it, the wght. bolts for my cues are exactly like Schon's.
But I'm kinda puzzled when you say a 'heavy 1 inch bolt'.
A 1 inch bolt will weigh what it weighs. There is no light, med. or heavy 1 inch. Please explain.

I can take out the one inch screw. That doesn't seem to hold the bumper on. I can't seem to budge the bumper. I've tried to see if there is a weight bolt about an inch down but all my hex wrenches don't work. I believe there is something down there but can't really tell.

If I were you, I would send the cue to Evan at Schon and have him add the weight you want since my understanding is those bolts are glued in. That cue is too rare and special to risk damaging it. I also have an old Schon from the early 80's. An R12/15 and I wouldn't let anyone other than Evan work on it.

Regards,

Randy

what are you trying to do

kj cues is telling you right the small allen head holds bumper on , there is
a 3/8 x16 straight edge weight bolt under bumper , i changed one out
of mine. bumper is on tight, have to twist and pull , but it will come off
are you trying to add weight? if so i am sure when you find out what you need , you can get it here on azb.
not much hope this helps john107:anderson sc

Trust me when I say this. The 8/32x1" Allen hd screw holds the bumper to the wght. bolt. The bumper is 1" long. It's making a lot of contact with the interior of the recess in which it sits and doesn't fall out all by itself. You have to use some effort.

However, given what I've read so far, I'd suggest that you take Randy's advise and send it to Schon.
Before you go any further I feel that I need to point something out to you.
If Mr. Clark determines that anyone other than Schon has worked on this cue, he will refuse it and you will forever have lost the right to send this cue to Schon for repair.
