Weight bolt or not

I have been working on a curly maple cue and about to finish it up. I put the butt on the scale last night and it pretty close to the target weight with no pin or bumper. If by stroke of luck it comes out perfect would you go ahead and add a weight bolt for the end user or tell them to try and send it back? IMO I would think the less things to go wrong the better and also 1 less variation in the hit from a different material.

If this is a custom order and the customer asked for a particular weight and you hit that weight, I would probably let the customer know it has no weight bolt and you met his requirements exactly. If he wants a weight bolt hole bored and tapped, it's not a big deal to add it now or later. You would probably have to add a 1/8 - 1/4 oz weight bolt or so to compensate for the material removed.

stay away from weight bolts

if you can get within 1/8 oz an ounce to the weight, let the customer hit a few with the cue as is. i think cues are a lot better off without weight bolts.
i dont like the fact that you can work your ass off getting a cue to balance just right, then someone replaces the weight bolt making the cue an ounce or so heavier, making the cue way too butt heavy., SO FOR ME ITS NO WEIGHT BOLTS IN MY CUES.
