I have been working on a curly maple cue and about to finish it up. I put the butt on the scale last night and it pretty close to the target weight with no pin or bumper. If by stroke of luck it comes out perfect would you go ahead and add a weight bolt for the end user or tell them to try and send it back? IMO I would think the less things to go wrong the better and also 1 less variation in the hit from a different material.
