Aw, shucks, guys... you are too kind.

If you're having trouble sleeping, here's a few of my favorite stories:

Wild Ride in a Hot Jag

War Stories

and

Man Parks Car , Up Front, Every Time!

For the entire Collected Works, click here.

Enjoy!

FASTMikie,
I barely finished the first story about the Jag, when I started in on the War Stories. It was an absolute delight. I had a great time reading it and felt like I was right there with you in Basic Training. You are quite the story teller.

I'll get to some of the others another day. I'm glad I spotted the links under one of your posts and clicked on them. I am richer for it. :)

I hope to meet you one day.

Best Regards,
JoeyA

About the writing...
IT'S ALL TRUE!!

That may seem difficult to believe when you read some of the stories,
but they all happened exactly the way I describe them.

One of the reasons I write this stuff down is so that I don't have to repeat myself.
You know how things tend to get embellished sometimes when a story is retold several times.
(Think of Hillary Clinton's story of dodging bullets in Bosnia)

I write these things down when they are still fresh, so I get it right, and then I just leave it alone.
This keeps me from exaggerating down the road. Or forgetting important details.

Who knows, maybe some day I'll have enough for a book...

I'd like to hear a story about you meeting the Dalai Lama and your experience with him, if it's in the cards down the road. I have to imagine it would make a great read.

The funny thing about stories is that the best stories are always about actual events in our lives. Life is far too exciting by itself without the need to alter the story line or embellishing it. Keep writing.

I wouldn't mind meeting him myself.........or that rat that backed into my truck at the pool hall and left without saying a word.
