Went to a remodeled pool hall today, 13.50 per hour?

The nearest pool hall to me still only charges 5$ an hour and they have 19 diamonds...I don't go often....its a bit far away from me but when I do go I would gladly pay 2 or 3 times the price they charge to play. The equipment is well kept, the atmosphere is good and beer is cold. I go out of my way to buy a lot of drinks and eat there too when I go.

When I was in the Detroit area I played at The Rack in Levonia and I think it was only $5 an hour, very nice tables there and you can find pretty good $ one pocket games all the time.

A place near me is also $5 per player, although tables are not the best, and I play there enough and teach players there that the owner agreed to a $10 flat fee no matter how long I'm there. It's probably not too hard for regular players in rooms to get the same sort of deal. I know of a few others that don't pay any table time at all and just help out with things around the place.

I called the local pool hall, lots of 7' diamonds and 5 9' gold crowns, all recovered and place has been remodeled. Sweet! I ask the price, and he said on Monday thru Friday from noon to 5p it's FREE! Didn't need to ask for any prices other than that. They must be making more on food and drinks, but it was a surprise!

In 1970 the cost of a loaf of bread was $0.25 and today it is $2.50

A couple of years ago minimum wage was $7.50 and it is now $15 in many places.

In 1970 the cost to play a rack was $0.10, and should be around $1.00 today (based on the above ratio).

This is what happens when you spend umpteen trillions of dollars to stimulate an economy* in the midst of a pandemic without raising taxes to cover the debt. Debt turns into inflation, and we all suffer the consequences. (*) and don't get me stared on the umpteen trillions we have spend in wars over the last 2 decades, not the umpteen trillions of the lowered tax rates since 1981. Now, where is my violin.......
Don't forget the umpteen trillion on illegals.
