Most people are probably not hanging out in Virginia to do that. If the bank the checks are drawn on is a national bank then they could do that but then there is the non-account holder fee to deal with.
Shame that everyone has to sweat this.
Shame "history" is repeating itself.
If it were me, I'd be happy to pay that fee to get my cash.
Barry posted on the FB US Open Page YESTERDAY morning that checks would be good after 3PM-Many interpreted that as today after 3 but he may have meant yesterday. Anyway hoping they are good.
It kind of amazes me if they are good, that he was able to somehow take in 70k over expenses in the seeming flop of a tournament revenue wise this year.
Edit-Correction - i now recall some of the top finishers received multiple post dated checks so if all goes well today it may only mean he took in 30-40k above expenses to date.

A neighbor of mine who backed a pro to the tourney just deposited the check.

I didnt see a post in this thread where anyone said the checks probably wont clear though.
