I was wondering why I don't hear more about Wes Hunter on the forum, living in the same town and frequenting his pool hall I have had the chance to look at many of his cues and shoot with about 4 of them.

His cues are incredible and hit like a dream, he is a very talented individual.

I agree he makes a nice cue. I tried to order one recently via email. I got a response that basically said 'I will get back to you' and he hasn't. Whats he like in person?

Good question and I agree with you about his cues. I just recently acquired one of Wes' cues and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it plays. He makes a fantastic playing cue. I love his 3/8 x 8 pin wood to wood joint with it's snug fit.

That is surprising, he is very personable, Wes and his wife Cindy are two of the nicest people around, I'm sure he wants your business.

Call him at Mission Billiards 505.437.0027 if that number doesn't
work try 575.437.0027, the phone company is changing our area code, sometimes one works and the other won't.

It really is a snug fit, the first time I screwed one of his cues together I thought I was doing something wrong, I am used to my 22 year old Joss that is not so snug until its screwed together.

I have to admit his cues would make me switch for the first time in 22 years, they are that good.

And don't forget he has sponsored one of the best multi-regional women's tournaments out there. I played a set with one of his cues and thought it to be a helluva solid playing cue. His cues are usually at minimum $1K and well worth that and the higher price they command.

I just got rid of my Wes Hunter cue that I had used for about 5 years, and although I'm very happy with the cue I have now, the Hunter played as well as or better than anything I've ever played with. I took my hunter back and forth with me from hot and humid Japan, to dry Colorado, to the Philippines, to Korea, and more.....................and never had a problem with either of the shafts. He not only makes a nice cue, but until recently, not many people knew that he has some of the best shaft wood around.
In my opinion, the only reason his cues aren't at the top of somebodys list for "best cuemaker" is because most of his designs tend to be far from what most consider the 'traditional' look.
His cues are one of the better buys out there for the money as far as I'm concerned.
Although I agree, he is a little slow to respond with email, anytime I've ever spoken to him on the phone, he was very polite and professional. Probably just busy 'cause at the time, not only was he building cues and running his own place, he was also very involved in the Hunters Classic Tour.
