The Tony Watson thread really upset me. Is this really what mens pool has come to??? No wonder golf gets all of that TV time. You don't hear stories of Phil Mickelson stealing Tiger Woods Buick and going to the local pawn shop and hawking Vijay Singh's 4 iron. Sounds like the guy needed a good pounding. Jerks like this make me embarassed to even play the game.

Meanwhile....Tiger was accusing a player that he would not say the name of in public..(Kenny Perry) of using a illegal driver...

Here is something interesting...John Daly has had some serious alchohol problems leading to absolute meltdowns on the course............Yet, he is a fan favorite....(go figure that one)

Daly, to me at least, reminds everyone that just because they have a problem in life that you can go on living. That hopefully you can overcome them and live a good life. Not to mention he isn't in the best shape which gives hopes to all of us fat guys that we can actually play golf. (I still can't play though)

Yea, just ask Greg Maddux... Chicks dig the long ball!!!

John Daly is a fan favorite because he is everyman and he reaches out to the fans a lot... His drinking problems only hurt himself and what he could be on the course... Also, he drives to each event in a RV and lives in it during the week... He is John Madden on a golf course...

Does anyone really put Tony Watson in the same professional league as guys like Johnny Archer, Ralf Souquet, Nick Varner, Thorston Holmann, Efern Reyes, Cory Deuel and Earl Strickland? Yea, I know he's a money player and plays well for the money, but with all of the controversy surrounding this guy, dumping backers, drugs and stealing, does Tony Watson really have any kind of impact on professional pool? I don't think so.

Other than money games, has he ever won any major tournament(s) or a string of them? Has he ever been named player of the year? Is he a world champion? He seems like a nice guy and is a solid player, but his priorities and his bad habits will always keep him where he is today-nowhere. At least in the pro status of pool.

hmmm....I never knew it was Kenny Perry that he was talking about.

I would never criticize JD. I always root for him. He's as real as it gets for a superstar.

He walked off a tourney that I was a marshall at. We were supposed to escort the players, then suddenly I saw him just walking through the crowd. He had had one of the toughest days of his career, fresh out of rehab, so frustrated that he was just walking to the parking lot from the 15th. He still smiled at me like, "what are you gonna do?". It showed a lot of heart.

Cheers,
Regas
