What a match!

Amazing shot.

Also great appreciation of the shot and sportsmanship by Earl.

I also think it's an amazing situation. The finals.....double hill....and he comes with one of the most incredible shots we've ever seen....to run out and win. It wasn't a 13-0 whooping, with a "what the hell....I'll try it" shot. If he misses, he loses. These are the moments that everyone will remember. That's why I put this as perhaps the best match of all time.

Check out Mike Massey at the very end of the clip... He was happy to see that one 1st hand...

Efren was trying for a safety with the first shot. Somehow it found a pocket. The zig-zag shot is the "shot" of the match.

I would put this shot even more clever and showstopper than Zig Zag.. Because Efren is playing 4-ball cross corner(see where he put his finger when hes planning THE SHOT) with possible 9-ball fluke and even if he does not get those he probably get strong safety.

Edit: he does not try 4-ball straight to corner because high risk of scratch to middle pocket. When he hit 4-ball close to bank it, cueball finds almost always safe with option of long position to 5 ball...

this is where 10 ball saves the day, call shot 10 ball. Just in case the link doesn't work start the clip at 2:21

(we're getting slightly off topic on this one where shots are being posted and not matches)

now you want to talk about crushing the rack. This is Roberto Gomez doing damage to this 10 ball rack, but notice how the wing balls don't do their typical 4 rail action.

boy imagine down on a tough shot hill hill when he hits them on the table next to you

(oh yea, sound comes on late and a bit loud, so put your audio in check)

Breaking from the wings you do not get the same ball paths as from 6inches left or right of center of the table... To get the optimal ball paths you have to hit the rack pretty much perfectly to bank one of the balls next to a wing at a far corner... If you are not doing that you are going to get your lunch eaten by a player who is....

Watch at the end when he finally moves to very center and gets the wings kissing around the head rail... He almost gets the 2 4 railers going in the last rack...

You can see him shaking his head in a few of these while breaking dry so It's safe to say he had not worked on the 10ball break a bunch at the point in time of this event.....
