I've started looking for a dedicated jump cue and have looked into buying mass produced products like the OB Lift, Predator Air, etc., and at custom made jump cues like a Lomax.

My question is, what makes these all different? What are some of the things I should be looking for? Shaft material, tip, ferrule, weight? And what makes one better or worse than another?

Thanks!

People like different things, so your gonna get diifferent answers, but a stiff shaft, hard ferrule material are the basic components.

The best jump cue is gonna be the one that works for you. Custom or production.

good point.... I have seen people that have trouble with one jump cue but jump great with another.......

basically.... about 42 inches long, about 9 to 10 ounces, stiff shaft, hard ferrule and hard tip or jump tip..... of 13 to 14 mm...
