What cities have the best poolrooms, tournaments, action?
As long as you're willing to drive, it's hard to beat Hard Times in Los Angeles. Any given day you'll see Santos, Morro, Ernesto and Oscar, Parica, a bunch of shortstops. Cheap table time. Small tourney's all week, weekends. Snooker tables, tournament room, carom tables. It's a real old-style pool room.
I have a weekly tournament that draws 20-20 players on sundays
and I try to play people who come through some type of way
there are also multiple people at my room who try people out for cheap.

Phoenix az
Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio both used to have a pretty decent scene some years back. Definately a little action. But I just recently moved back to Ohio after 13 years so not sure about now. I'm in NE Ohio, so I haven't made it south to check it out in years. Also have a buddy in Memphis who says the scene is good but you gotta watch where you go. Big problems with the gangs and drugs. I haven't personally played in Memphis so I can't speak from experience. Kinda looking for an up to date review on Ohio myself. New job so my travel time is limited for a bit.
Where in Phoenix?
I've been to mainstreet, kolbys, bullshooters, river city a bunch of bars and never see action. There's a lot of week and some weekend tourneys though if your good enough to make it.
Metro, cue & brew, skip & jans are on my list to visit too...
