Win a major US tournament on ESPN...

I know it's a large goal...but I want to prove to the world that a disabled pool player can have that strong of a game...to beat an able bodied person on TV...and not just beat 'em, but destroy them.

Shorty

Tom, still haven't broken the century mark ? Me neither. Let's have a bet, first one to break the 100 will have the other one to buy a beer for him, deal ?
:p

Yeah it's becoming a nightmare for me... and I think the more I think of it the worse it gets LOL... And it's even harder in these days because of the old slow cloth in the humid poolhall I practise at  :D
But of course... deal accepted! BTW, if u run 100 first, do I have to pay via pay pal to your fav bar in Finland or may I hope you to join one of the next ET (i.e. next one in Switzerland)? ;)

I'd like to be able to practice for 10 hours a day.....but I'd have to find a table first. :D If I found that table, and practiced 10 hours a day, then I'd like to get back to my old form, play lots of tournaments, plenty of action, and even take up 1 pocket. I know in my heart that I'm just 6 months away from playing real good but with no tables, no action, no tournaments, and no money, I'm stuck here in AzB posting about what I'd like to do. That's not so bad though, I like it here. :D

Lol. I might join the Prague event on January. Depending on my current cash flow. Well... if I run 100 first, you'll need to buy a beer and bring it to me here to Helsinki ! :p

Goals

I haven't been playing pool seriously for that long, maybe about 1 year. Every time I think I've hit a limit, I'll look back and see that I indeed keep getting better. I absolutely love the thrill of competing in tournaments, even though i've only made it to the 10-person weekly tournament in some small town. That being said, my short-term goal is to play (and hold my ground) at the December 4th Blaze 9-ball tour stop in Altoona, PA. I know that doesn't sound like much of a goal to somebody that plays tour stops a lot, but I've had it in mind all year. The $90 or so is a pretty significant investment for an impoverished college student. Maybe i'll see some AzB members there.

Later,
Zach

But no, wouldn't like to date a celebrity, just a regular underwear model would do fine for me. :p
haha.. may I suggest the enchanting Alessandra Ambrosio? But you need to wait until she divorces me for spending too much time in the pool hall trying to run 100.

1) to consistently play more confidently & with a more offensive mind set
2) to be a better loser...
3) most important- to be a better winner

I plan on playing two more tournaments at the very least before the year ends on the AZ women's tour. I have won the last 3 tournaments I have played in, including the Nationals, and want to bring the total to 5 to finish out the year. I am playing in the WPBA Nationals in Oregon, I want a top half finish.

I am working on my dicipline when playing. I can't tell you still how many balls I still shoot when I know it isnt quite right. I keep telling myself when playing something I read in one of the poster's signatures. He had a quote on the bottom of his posts from Mosconi I believe that read,

"I never shot a ball I wasn't 100 percent sure I wasn't going to make." Think about it. That was the full signature.

I am really trying to drill it home hitting every ball 100 pecent sure, 100 percent of the time. It takes a lot of effort. It is never ok to miss, even when you play someone who only runs 2 at a time.

Working on it...

..I got three gold medals and a silver, team trophy, $100 bucks here and there for winning a hotel comp, bar tabs, tshirts, promo stuff.......so I had those dreams....but just to compete with my friends who are better than me, so they can say "youre one of us".....just seeing pros play is a dream, like efren reyes, can I be humble enough to dream to play him, cause pool is about playing not watching ..no I can never say that but say 'pudding' (the guy who got me into playing pool cause I enjoyed hanging out with him)..how many times have I wanted to 'get' him on the pool table and sometimes have but humiliated enormously more often than not.....so just credibility as a player, personal enjoymant and to make some friends along the way........perhaps dreams pass, what about shooting pool in jeanette lees pool room......I always dream about winning a million bucks and subsidizing my friends on a world pool tour......then theres the dream of owning your own pool hall or rooms or a bar with a pool table.....

I'd say to start off by changing your screen name (which has always scared me)

How about..."sweeternhoney"; "goodyli'ltwoshoes"; "mellow1"; (maybe subconsciously you'll start believing that you really are those instead of the other) LOL

I wouldn't have thought(from reading your other posts) that you would scare that easily :p lol

No, screenname is also part of my email address, I couldn't believe it wasn't taken already...

I'm just a wittle angel, tee hee hee hee. Just a big softie (in the heart...and no where else...let's clarify that). Girls have always been mean to me cause I'm too nice. :( I want to help out society in general so I'm gonna run an ad to become a "birth father" to as many women as I can. tee hee hee hee.
I have to go now...bible study class is coming up. ( signed...glazed donut)

age really doesnt have anything to do with it, the quality of practice determines ultimatly on how you play, you could practice 20 years and never really get any better, so the type of practice has a profound affect on gameplay...

Same here... I would like to go professional before June 2007.. I have a lot of work ahead of me.... Compared to most of the tournaments I go to, I'd say im 3-5 times better then the older ones that have been playing all their lives. and im only 1/3 their age...

I also live in Arizona (Peoria) and have found that my goals have changed year by year. I used to run to the pool hall everyday after work and stay as long as I could. Now many years later I find my self going a couple of times a month. I have a table at home and have several friends of all different playing levels come by and play. I practice probally 10 hrs a week and my game has gone up a little my fundamentals are alot better than before but you just miss someting watching the 10's of the world play. I wander out and watch for a couple hours pick up a couple of new moves and then practice them until I get a grasp on them. I don't like tournaments much so I gamble occasionally but that usually has nothing to do with your playing level. That has more to do with how you match up! I love the game and will play as long as I can. I would love to be a 10. I guess that is my goal, but I am not willing to dedicate the time to it. I have the greatest respect for Chris A., Tony C., and Jimmy M. They work a full work week and play great. I just have to many other hobbies and children to dedicate my time to.
