What cue tips do the pros use?

I have tried some 6 or 7 different cue tips and am presently trying a kamuii clear soft.....only had it 2 weeks so hard to give a good assessment at this point but curious about what the pros use. anybody know?

The fact that the pros use whatever product is made by whomever sponsor's them tells me that their equipment is not their first priority as long as it's good quality.

As far as tips go I'd be more interested to know what level of hardness they use, when and why. Not necessarily who makes the tip as I think that is just a lot of marketing BS in many cases.

Not jumping on your case but I think that's exactly what old player just asked....."What cue tip?"

It's been my experience that results in an answer.....Moori medium......Sniper hard.......Kamui super soft.
It's part of our pool jargon....what kind of joint is on the cue? People don't answer just ivory...it's a flat-faced
or piloted in their reply......and personally, ivory collars are not an ivory joint...it's a faux ivory joint IMO.

Some like layered, others not.

Scott Frost always plays with a Moori medium. Van Boening and Deuel prefer non-layered tips. Those are just a couple off the top of my head.

I watched VanBoening say he uses a Brown Kamui Hard and Efren say Elkmaster, always Elkmaster. Don't know if there pressed. So many good tips on the market, so many good shafts, so many good shooters using different equipment. I don't think it matters as much as manufactures want us to think it does. Reminds me of some of the fishing gear I see in the stores here in Alaska. It looks like it catches more fisherman then fish.
