What differences are there in the JFlowers’ $200, $250 and $400 carbon-fiber shafts?

Its crazy how they will buy any shaft online without matching. The fit may not even work.

I see a lot people with carbon shafts on their custom butts and the connection isn't flush.

I like the ring but the extra $200 is killing me.
My older cues look odd without that ring.

It drives me nuts... that was the main reason for not using CF for so long was that it didnt match up ringwork with my cues.

I actually had a cue made so that it would match up. Have another one in the works right now.

JFlowers sells three models of carbon fiber shafts. This is unusual since most companies sell only one model and that model likely remains unchanged for years (Cynergy and --- pretty much --- Revo).

JFlowers provides some explanation claiming differences in carbon-fiber type (aero-grade A, AA or AAA), technology (standard, advanced or next generation); ringwork (present or absent), deflection amount (low, very low and, super low), tip (standard, Kamui black clear soft, Taom Fusion), and price ($200, $250 or $400).

How are JFlowers’ models Classic, Crown and S.M.O. different?

I have the SMO. In my opinion it hits pretty well. I use a Kamui black soft tip on a J Crouch cue.

One difference among the JFlowers CF shafts is SMO's metal vault plate/ferrule. A recent Reddit post showed the metal ferrule and a JFlowers website shows the same thing in only their SMO. I know of no other pool carbon fiber shaft with a metal ferrule (snooker? yes).

if you really wanna know, buy em and try it
as easy as that

tire kicking inquires dont do much for the forum
Well maybe other people have tried them and can give some personal incite as to whether they felt a difference. It’s a pool forum ..if we don’t ask questions and have conversations whats the point lol

And yet with the metal plug (not really a ferrule) the front end mass is low enough for it to be probably the shaft with the lowest deflection.
And it’s definitely more durable than the Cynergy soft ferrule

Have you broken cynergy ferrules? How durable do they need to be, how hard are you hitting balls ?

I had a few of em
Nothing about jflowers stood out for me

Its possible to make the tube too light. I'm guessing this is as much about balance as anything.

The plate is soft and gets scratched easily, mine is scratched from nothing…
There are lots of videos about replacing it.
And even here a few guys that do repairs wrote about it

A friend that does cue repair has replaced a bunch of Cynergy ferrules. Cuetec uses a super soft material, and it seems prone to damage.

As far as the SMO goes: I like the SMO quite a bit and even played a league match with one last night. That said, I tend to go back to a Revo.

Were I buying my first CF shaft, I'd be happy with a SMO.
